The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday decided to implement Phase IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which will come into effect from 8 am on Monday.
CAQM, the Centre’s panel on Delhi-NCR air quality, said, “Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 441 (severe) at 4 pm today and is increasing further and has already crossed the severe+ category. At 5 pm, the AQI was recorded at 447, 452 and 457.”
All construction activities, even on highways, roads, flyovers, overbridges etc, will remain prohibited till further orders. CAQM advised the elderly, children and people suffering from respiratory, cardiac or other diseases to avoid going out and remain indoors as much as possible.
